New venture: Paddles

Since restoration often has "down time" involved, waiting for epoxy to set/ paint to dry it was decided that a smaller project might prevent that time from being wasted. A book I got as a Christmas gift inspired me to try some Adirandack paddles. The photos are of my first effort in cherry.The grain in this wood is beautiful with just a few coats of oil. It is light and the cherry has some pretty flame graining not apparent in the pictures.

1958 Lyman "Satisfied" Bow repair

1958 Lyman "Satisfied" New Transom

The transom was too far gone to save so a new one was in order. Selected woods were chosen for this very visable part of the boat. The wood grain will look even better once it is varnished and polished to high sheen.

The bow view with windshield glass in place. The paint job is well suited to the boat. Love the pin striped deck.
